THE TAMIL NADU POLICE ACADEMY
The Government of Tamilnadu in G.O.Ms.No.78 Home (Modern) Department, dated: 22-01-99 has sanctioned Rs.36 Crores for the construction of a modern and well equipped Police Academy at an idyllic site at Oonamanjeri Village, near Vandallur Zoo, on Chennai- Trichy road.
MULTI-SITE VIDEO CONFERENCING IN POLICE TRAINING COLLEGE
In context of constant endeavour to update itself with the latest technological developments, the Police Training College is envisaging and formulating a plan for launching a video conferencing linkage between all the police training institutions in the State of Tamil Nadu and also with other institutions like National Police Academy.
The Tamil Nadu Police in cooperation with the Department of Criminology of University of Madras, is formulating a plan for establishment of a Sub Inspectors Cadet School at Chennai. Students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate Examinations would be eligible to appear for the entrance examination for admission to the three year residential graduation course for the degree of B.Sc. (Police Science).
E-LEARNING
The police training college is also formulating a programme of partnership with leading professional educational institutions for launching E-Learning by linking the trainees through the networking technology to various resources of knowledge of all over the world.
